Ian Hawke's Lecture Notes —which are also available embedded in the course platform; see tab on the right of "Readings"— are a complete overview of material on numerical methods that is usually covered in an undergraduate curriculum. You can read the notes online, or download the PDF file.

Dr. Hans Fangohr is Dr. Hawke's colleage at Southampton University. He has written a set of notes titled "Introduction to Python for Computational Science and Engineering," which you can download in PDF from his website.
